About the Rural Heart Foundation

The Rural Heart Foundation was established in 2025 by Rocky View County farmer Larry Woolliams.

With deep roots in agriculture and a strong passion for wellness and community, Larry created the foundation to help address the growing need for accessible mental and physical healthcare supports in rural communities.

Farmers and rural residents often face unique challenges when it comes to healthcare access, mental wellness support, isolation, and specialized services. The Rural Heart Foundation exists to support research, innovation, and community initiatives that help close those gaps and improve quality of life throughout rural Rocky View County.

Through fundraising efforts, partnerships, and community engagement, the foundation supports projects that create meaningful and lasting impact for rural residents and farm families.
